Student Eligibility & Age
Applicants are above 18 years old or with high school education diploma can apply for the group class courses. Student who is under 18 years old is more suggested to apply for one-on-one course.
Application Deadlines and Semester-Start
Each year the Chinese Language Center offers three semester-long programs, namely, fall, spring, and summer. Fall and spring semesters are 16 weeks long, and summer is 8 weeks long. The regular group class schedule is from 9:10-12:00 or 14:10-17:00, from Monday to Friday.

Tuition Fees
The Center offers three terms of Mandarin Chinese study in the fall semester, spring semester, and summer term. Both the fall and spring semesters are 16 weeks long, whereas the summer term spans 8 weeks. The program tuition is determined by class size and length of study. The group-class tuition for the fall, spring, and summer programs and fees (per class) for private classes are listed as follows:
The fees listed below are based on 15 hours per week. The applicant can only register for certain hours depending on the individual learner's needs and goals.

Attention:
According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education, registration for Chinese language courses for a duration of 2 months or more is required to apply for a study visa for learning Chinese. The center will arrange small or large classes based on the results of the placement test.
◎ Group Class Admission Application Steps
Step 1: Application for Admission
Please fill out the online application form and upload relevant documents (click here)
- 1 passport-sized photo
- Copy of passport (valid for at least 6 months with blank pages)
- Copy of highest academic degree certificate
- Proof of financial ability, financial undertaking (if available)
- If using financial proof from relatives, the relative must write a statement explaining the relationship with the student, guaranteeing support for the student's living expenses in Taiwan, and sign the statement personally at the end.
- Applicants must prove their financial ability to study in Taiwan, with a minimum of $3,000 USD or equivalent in another currency, and provide proof valid within three months of the application (e.g., bank account statement showing a balance of $3,000 USD or more).
- Recipients of Taiwanese government scholarships must still provide proof of financial ability of at least $1,600 USD or equivalent in another currency.
- Those intending to study in Taiwan for more than 180 days must apply for a residence visa in Taiwan. If the source of the financial proof is not the applicant's own deposit, proof of family relationship (e.g., marriage certificate, birth certificate with parents' information) and remittance records are required. Please use remittance services to avoid depositing cash into accounts opened in Taiwan. If cash deposit is made, provide proof of currency exchange from the bank. Currency exchange at gold shops will not be accepted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Vietnamese applicants must submit one of the following basic foreign language proficiency certificates:
- Certificate of proficiency in Chinese Language (TOCFL) level 1 or above (related link)
- TOEFL scores: Internet-based test (iBT) 26 or above, paper-based test (pBT) 385 or above
- TOEIC scores: 375 or above
- IELTS scores: 3.0 or above
For those not requiring a study visa for learning Chinese in Taiwan, please attach one of the following documents:
- Copy of residence permit
- Copy of working holiday visa
- Copy of tourist visa
