Name MOE Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (MOE HES)   
Purpose The Ministry of Education (MOE) established the MOE Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (MOE HES) to enhance exchanges between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and countries designated by the MOE by encouraging foreign students to study Mandarin in Taiwan and to deepen their understanding of Taiwan’s cultural and social developments

Name MOFA Taiwan Scholarship
Purpose The Taiwan Scholarship program is a joint initiative launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Ministry of Education (MOE), the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and the National Science Council (NSC) in 2004. At the Republic of China’s centennial in 2011, the Taiwan Scholarship program evolved into the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship program and the MOE Taiwan Scholarship program in order to cater to students of varying backgrounds.
The MOFA Taiwan Scholarship is dedicated to encouraging outstanding students from countries that have diplomatic relations with Taiwan to pursue their bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees in Taiwan.

Name Chinese Language Center Scholastic Achievement Award
Purpose In order to reward students for excellence and also improve the scholastic environment, the CLC offers the “Exceptional Scholar” award.
Introduction
The center will examine the student application document and students should take the writing test, speaking test. The students meeting the requirements can get the scholarship NT$30,000.
(The center has right to revise the final decision; the amount of scholarship depends on subsidy each year.)
Application Requirements
  1. Must have completed at least one semester of studies at the CLC of Tunghai University, and must be registered for at least 15 hours a week of Chinese language classes this semester.
  2. The student must have achieved an academic average of 85 or above.
  3. The student must have a record of good behaviour.
  4. Must be registered for at least 15 hours of a week of Chinese language classes during the previous semester. Students with perfect attendance will be given priority.
  5. Never be given any scholarship by the CLC of Tunghai University.
  6. Must not be given any other scholarship by Taiwan government at the mean time.
  7. Not a exchange student.
  8. Not a degree student.
  9. The student must take a written and oral test.

Main Points for Evaluating Students to be Recommended The evaluation will consider applicants’ academic grades, Chinese language ability, attendance, interview test scores , as well as applicant’s study habits, including attitude and performance. Applicants with the highest evaluations will then be recommended for the scholarship.
Rights and Obligations
  • CLC reserves the right to cancel scholarship payments and transfer the remaining scholarship amounts to students on the scholarship waiting list, if, during the scholarship period, scholarship recipients miss more than 25% of total classes or their GPA falls below 85%.
  • Scholarship recipients are to maintain student status during the entire scholarship period. Leaving CLC prematurely disqualifies students from receiving any additional scholarship monies and the remaining scholarship amounts are to be reallocated to the next qualified scholarship applicants on the scholarship waiting list.
