At TFCF’s annual event last night, several foreign students who had previously completed their studies at Tunghai University's Chinese Language Center had a rare chance to gather together again. Among them were students from Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and the Kingdom of Eswatini.

A few years ago, each of them faced pivotal moments in their lives back in their home countries—some from vast grassland nations, some from the mountains of Central Asia, and some from the warm lands of southern Africa. To chase their dreams, they worked hard to secure Elite Cultivation Scholarships and embarked on a journey far from home—to Taiwan.

Back then, they shared a simple goal: to first learn Chinese well at the Language Center. The Chinese Language Center became their first station. From the unfamiliarity and nervousness upon arriving in Taiwan, they have now grown to speak with confidence.

Today, each of them continues to work hard in different degree programs at Tunghai University. When asked about how they feel looking back on the journey, their efforts have been more than just a breakthrough in language—it has been an extension of life itself: bringing stories from their homelands to Taiwan, and then carrying the lessons gained in Taiwan back to their home countries.

This reunion was not only a gathering among friends, but also a moment to witness the continued unfolding of their dreams. Starting from the Language Center, they have moved toward deeper knowledge and broader life horizons.

Thank you, TFCF, for helping us understand these stories of overseas students sowing seeds and reaping harvests in pursuit of their dreams!
